Role Summary

The Manager, Enterprise PMO executes the EPMO strategy and delivers a portfolio of strategic, complex initiatives. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, with high quality and measurable business outcomes, at Alaska Airlines. As a people leader, this role sets clear priorities and direction for the team and collaborates with senior executives to ensure alignment of the portfolio and individual project objectives with enterprise strategy. The role leads portfolio management, including governance, risk, resource allocation, delivery quality, and value realization.  

Key Duties

  • Lead the execution and value delivery of a portfolio of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment to enterprise priorities and measurable business outcomes.  
  • Partner with business leaders and sponsors to align objectives, scope, success criteria, and benefits, and drive transformation through effective delivery, change management, and process improvement. 
  • Oversee portfolio performance, including budget, resources, timelines, risks, and benefits realization, and resolve issues and constraints across teams.  
  • Provide governance and direction to project teams, ensuring consistent execution against PMO standards, methodologies, and best practices. 
  • Partner across the enterprise to manage cross-functional dependencies, risks, and impacts, and maintain clear communication.  
  • Identify and implement opportunities for innovation, leveraging AI and analytics, to continuously improve PMO processes, tools, and capabilities to enhance delivery effectiveness. 
  • Lead and develop a team of project managers, ensuring disciplined execution, stakeholder alignment, and consistent delivery of business impact across all programs and initiatives. 
  • Establish strong relationships and influence stakeholders to align priorities and deliver business outcomes. 
  • Identify and resolve portfolio risks and constraints, escalating as needed; align across teams to address conflicts and resource gaps.  

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required  

  • 5 years of experience leading complex cross-functional projects to completion, project management or related areas. 
  • 2 years of leadership experience. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree. 
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, PMBOK). 
  • Hands-on experience in project management, including all elements of scope, schedule, budget, risk evaluation, issue resolution, quality, integration, staffing, and communications.  
  • Experience in a leadership role managing large-scale, complex, and cross-functional projects. 
  • Experience leading change management initiatives, implementing projects involving process improvement principles and technology integration, and driving organizational transformation. 
  • Demonstrated ability to form relationships and strategic partnerships with senior leaders. 
  • Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. 
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities and deadlines. 
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent.  
  • Minimum age of 18.  
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.  

Preferred 

  • Portfolio management role experience. 
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.

Salary Range

$120,400 - $180,600 / year

Salary Details

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon employees. Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

 

Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
