Role Summary

The Principal Pricing & Revenue Management Analyst is the lead subject matter expert in the development of revenue management dashboards, tools, reporting and revenue generating products at Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. As an individual contributor, this role defines the long-term strategy for new and innovative revenue management tools and products, and exercises considerable latitude and initiative to envision and drive complex, ambiguous product initiatives.

Key Duties

  • As the lead subject matter expert in the development of revenue management dashboards, tools, reporting and revenue generating products, this role is responsible for delivering and maintaining comprehensive decision support tools that synthesize data from across commercial sources into usable tools using innovative methods and visualization techniques.
  • Defines the long-term strategy for wide-reaching products (e.g. Atmos awards, interline/codeshare optimization, Dynamic Pricing) and is accountable for driving P&L accretive actions with business partners across the commercial organization.
  • Exercises considerable initiative to research, identify and make recommendations on potential new and innovative products and offerings to support revenue growth for the next 1-3 years.
  • Expert understanding and go-to person for the interplay between revenue management and the larger commercial division with regards to product/promotional offerings and revenue performance for Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air.
  • Prepares and presents business cases to key stakeholders and executive leadership that influence strategy, tactical objectives, and business results across the company.
  • Collaborates with senior leadership to develop, define, and optimize parameters related to new tools (ie, Dynamic Pricing, Dynamic Availability, loyalty offerings, and leveraging partnerships with other airlines).
  • Creates project plans and timelines for new product offerings and leads the project from start to finish.
  • Defines and analyzes comprehensive metrics to inform the success of product, tools and promotions post-implementation, providing course correction, improvement and ongoing strategic planning.
  • Accountable for setting, forecasting, and achieving revenue targets for assigned product, tool, or initiatives.
  • Oversees RM testing practices to ensure robust results using advanced statistic and analytics practices.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

  • 7 years of experience in revenue management, analytics, reporting or related area.
  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in business, statistics, economics or related discipline, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
  • Expert level experience with Revenue Management tools (e.g. inventory forecasters / optimizers, fare management platforms).
  • Expert level experience with both data visualization platforms (e.g. Tableau) AND code-driven database environments (e.g. SQL, Python, Databricks, or equivalent applications).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, interpret and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to create and maintain strong partnerships and influence without direct authority.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with increased complexity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with diverse audiences, including both technical and non-technical customers, colleagues and executives.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • IBM Data Science Professional Certificate, Google Data Analytics Certificate, Certified Analytics Professional or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of aviation industry or prior airline industry experience.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of management cross-divisionally.

Salary Range

$109,450 -$180,600 / year

Pay Details

Seattle:$120,400 - 180,600

Honolulu: $109,450 - 164,200

 

Salary Details

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon employees. Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

 

Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
