Role Summary

The Sr. Product Manager F&B creates, manages, and champions brand experiences for -food products at Hawaiian Airlines for both international and domestic flights. As an individual contributor, this role exercises deep knowledge and considerable judgement to make decisions in food and industry trends, guest insights, feedback, and business analysis to increase guest satisfaction and to help build a strong and enduring love for the brand.

Key Duties

  • Creates, champions, and maximizes the food experience across all cabins to increase guest satisfaction and to help build a strong and enduring love for the brand.
  • Manages all phases of the product and menu development lifecycle, including development of product briefs, specifications, and requirements based on overall program strategy and guest insights.
  • Develops recommendations for new food products and services, including initiating and managing gap identification, idea generation, positioning, and financial attractiveness.
  • Seeks out food brand partners that can be integrated into our portfolio and cultivates these relationships from inception to launch in partnership with marketing, Inflight and catering operations stakeholders.
  • Partners closely with supply chain partners (internal and external) to ensure successful launch of new products and ongoing availability. Provides guidance on projected usage, ideal distribution requirements and catering locations.
  • Designs and executes a consistent guest experience aligned to Hawaiian brand equities, including marketing collateral, service-ware, service, and other branded touchpoints.
    • Performs an annual review of products and their contribution to AAG’s business plans.
  • Acts as the voice of the guest by understanding guest needs and insights.
    • Commissions primary research and/or secures secondary research to compile actionable insights on the airline industry’s competitive food and beverage landscape.
    • Tracks and utilizes market research, surveys, internal data to understand guest needs and to identify new opportunities to inform decision-making and measure success.
  • Oversees all P&L accounts where food and snacks contribute, including cost tracking and reporting, forecasting, and developing recommendations to meet annual commitments. Ensures complimentary offerings are designed in-line with budget.
  • Provides input to the annual calendar of inflight marketing programs, communications, and collateral, including briefings, development of creative assets, and tracking the results and impact of marketing efforts.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

  • 4 years of experience in product or brand management.
  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in business, marketing, or a related discipline, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
  • A passion for both food and creating a remarkable guest experience.
  • Working knowledge of financial planning and forecasting.
  • Ability to analyze data and make action-driving recommendations.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, as well as through compelling presentations.
  • Ability to confidently present objectives and desired outcomes to leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines while working independently and as part of a team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Based in HNL and willing to travel 30%-40% of the time.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • 2 years of experience managing outside food vendors and 3rd party suppliers.
  • Experience with profit and loss (P&L) management.

USD $0.00/Hr.

Salary Range

$88,350 -- $132,550 / year

Total Target Compensation Range (incl. bonus & equity)

$94,976.25 - $142,491.25

Salary Details

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon employees. Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

 

Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
