Role Summary

The Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator is responsible for developing solutions to all aspects of the LMS system and Inflight training programs at Alaska Airlines (AS). This Administrator creates and organizes the construction of training certifications by determining the proper e-courses, on the job training/practical training, surveys, tests/exams, requirements, and competencies to be included for each training certification. As an individual contributor, this role maintains and makes recommendations to improve the learning management system and associated training programs for AS Inflight division.

Key Duties

  • Takes initiative to develop solutions for the learning management system and training programs.
  • Manages development and actions that are associated with the Flight Attendant Website, including messages regarding updates, upgrades, testing, changes to mobile app, any/all related information.
  • Acts as an internal consultant by analyzing feedback, usage, defects, and makes recommendations for enhancement opportunities to drive continual improvement on system functionality to support business practices.
  • Shares knowledge on the basis use of the system’s self-service functionalities and manage Inflight trouble tickets.
  • With limited direction from leadership, works independently to create, organize, test, and monitor the construction of training certifications, curricula, and targeted audience groups by determining the proper e-courses, on the job training/practical training, surveys, tests/exams, reports requirements, and competencies to be included for each training certification.
  • Develops and manages security roles and groups for the training programs and workforce needs.
  • Proactively develops appropriate measures to ensure learning initiatives are effective and in alignment with business strategies.
  • Develops comprehensive project plans of LMS work to be shared with vendors/business partners.
  • Writes and maintains technical procedures, documentation and job aids.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

  • 2 years of functional support experience with learning content management systems and content development, or related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Learning and Development, Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline, or 2 years of additional work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Detail oriented and highly organized, with the ability to multi-task and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels in the organization and vendor companies, provide insights and recommendations, and collaborate to solve complex challenges.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with a strong ability to influence and build support for ideas.
  • Strong organization, workload prioritization and time management skills.
  • Strong professional curiosity and demonstrated initiative and accountability to drive results.
  • Certificate in Instructional System Design.
  • A minimum of 2 years inflight management or trainer experience.

Salary Range

$78,000-- $99,600 / year

Salary Details

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon employees. Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

 

Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
