Role Summary

This role is responsible for is responsible for maintaining, managing and procuring training equipment and facilities for over 9,000 flight attendants in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations. This position represents the Inflight division and works collaboratively with Airport Affairs, Internal Stakeholders, Supply Chain Management, Real Estate, FAA, outside vendors and others, to ensure Inflight is meeting expected space and growth metrics across multiple cities, states and countries.

Key Duties

  • Supports the Inflight training team, and procurement and ordering training equipment and door trainers.
  • Ensures short term and long term space needs are met for the Inflight division, including airport space in partnership with Corporate Real Estate.
  • Identifies and obtains Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) required equipment and other portable equipment for all Inflight training facilities in partnership with Supply Chain and Material Control.
  • Works with the Airport Affairs department on projects relating to Inflight for building space, parking facilities, and other projects between the Inflight division airport locations.
  • Provides recommendations to Inflight leadership and supports equipment, service contracts, and leases in collaboration with legal and risk management.
  • Partners with Safety and Compliance, and FAA regulators to ensure equipment installments and facility moves meet FAA regulations.
  • Manages projects and budgets related to Inflight training resources and space.
  • Oversees the design of building remodels while working with multiple internal and external stakeholders/vendors.
  • Move Management liaison, works with CRE and internal Inflight teams that need relocation or additional real estate needs.
  • Manages procurement process for new equipment including issuing RFQ, scoring vendors, PO issuance, Critical Design Reviews, Factory Acceptance Tests, and Site acceptance test.
  • Create and update FAA forms to align with 14 CFR 121.408
  • Create and update SOPs
  • Train new instructors on FAA equipment requirements and expectations
  • Manages and creates business cases as needed.
  • Collaborates with FP&A to provide accurate financial information.
  • Partners with Inflight leadership in forecasting and planning training resources as well as assisting in annual budget requirements.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

  • 5 years of related experience (e.g. vendor relations, property management, project management, or leading projects).
  • 2 years of leadership experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple workgroups, divisions and companies to ensure goals are met on time and on budget.
  • Ability to hold and maintain AS Inflight qualification.
  • Excellent communication skills (e.g., verbal, written, and listening).
  • Proven ability to work independently and be self-motivated with a high degree of accountability.
  • Detailed oriented and highly organized, with the ability to multi-task and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum age of 21.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • A Bachelor of Arts or Science degree with a related focus.
  • Experience managing projects that directly affect multiple organizations, departments, and/or the entire company.
  • Sound knowledge of FAA process and regulations.

Salary Range

$92,650 -- $139,000 / year

Salary Details

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

 

Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
