Role Summary

The Agency Sales Manager is a subject matter expert for corporate travel management companies at Alaska Airlines. As an individual contributor, this role exercises considerable judgment to make decisions to drive incremental revenue, leveraging aspects of our agency and corporate customer partnerships.  

Key Duties

  • Act as a subject-matter expert for TMC (Travel Management Company) business for Alaska Airlines.
  • Builds key business relationships with TMC accounts focused on business travel growth opportunities for Alaska Airlines.
  • With minimal direction from leadership, exercises considerable judgement to manage the pricing, cost analysis and negotiations of all TMC agreements with the aim of obtaining the highest market share and yield possible in individual marketplaces. 
  • Partner with legal and risk management teams to construct contract-binding agreements.  
  • Analyze revenue, discounts, and contract performance to ensure goal compliance and profitability.  
  • Builds key business relationships with TMC accounts focused on business travel growth opportunities for Alaska Airlines.
  • Develop marketing related promotions to help drive sales efforts, coordinating closely with marketing & business loyalty teams.
  • Manage the portfolio of TMC agency accounts through sales calls, negotiating agreements, and coordination with pricing.  
  • Strategize business growth and lead development of other agency accounts through collaboration with revenue management team to ensure special fares are filed accordingly and drive expected revenue per the terms of the agreement. 
  • Monitor reporting and metrics to identify trends and to develop a strategy to ensure the company is positioned appropriately in market.
  • Monitor revenue, commissions, and contract performance to ensure maximum revenues and share goals are attained.
  • Effectively manage and organize time and resources, maximizing revenue opportunities at the most cost-effective rate for Alaska Airlines.
  • Prepare and implement regional sales plan in accordance with corporate sales objectives and ensure Alaska Airlines is well positioned among its competitors and leverages its position in the marketplace. 

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required 

  • 4 years of experience in outside sales, with a concentration in the retail service environment or related area. 
  • Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. 

 

Preferred 

  • Prior airline experience.
  • Prior exposure to and use of travel industry data reporting sources such as ARC and PRISM.
  • Proficiency with CRM tool Salesforce.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to drive outcomes in the best interest of the company.  
  • Ability to establish cross-functional, collaborative relationships with other teams and workgroups. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to cope with conflicts caused by competing priorities.

Salary Range

$97,200 -- $145,800 / year

Salary Details

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

 

Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
