Role Summary

The HR Initiatives Program Manager is responsible for owning the vision and long-term roadmap for the People Team as well as the successful execution of the largest and highest priority People Team initiatives. As an individual contributor, this role uses considerable judgement to define strategy and follow through on road mapping, resourcing, planning and execution of the most complex and transformative People Team efforts., such as integration with Hawaiian Airlines and the replacement of PeopleSoft HCM.

Key Duties

  • Own the People Team strategic roadmap including visioning, goals, and the yearly planning process
  • As the subject matter expert in program and project management, the incumbent will ensure the successful execution of the top priorities of the People Team
  • Define resource requirements and budgets
  • Define individual project structure within the overall program and provide guidance and mentorship to project managers leading those efforts as necessary
  • Use influence to work across the division and with external stakeholders to understand, document and build project plans around complex scope
  • Partner with SMEs in process improvement, business analysis, change management and other disciplines to provide holistic support to program execution
  • Identify, develop contingency planning, escalate and mitigate issues and risks
  • Monitor and effectively communicate program progress with data analysis, metrics and status reporting to all stakeholders including senior company leadership
  • Identifies opportunities to save time/cost or to increase benefits
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

  • 7 years of experience in project or program management or similar area
  • Bachelor’s degree, or an additional 2 years of training/experience in lieu of degree.
  • Ability to manage expectations in a high-pressure, deadline filled environment.
  • Ability to identify problems and collaboratively develop alternatives for solutions.
  • Experience with MS Office suite and SmartSheet.
  • Strong analytical, communication and people skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

 

Preferred

  • Experience working in Human Resources
  • Experience using metrics and reports to manage/monitor workload
  • Consultative, with the ability to effectively influence stakeholders

Salary Range

$117,500 - $176,300 / year

Total Target Compensation Range (incl. bonus & equity)

$129,250 - 193,930

Salary Details

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

 

Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
